the things that amuse

Vivian is lying in her bed starring at the ceiling fan in Terry/Kim's living room. Actually she's chatting with it as well =) She started giggling and smiling more regularly now. Kimberley gets her chatting up a storm. Terry, Kim and John hit a bday party last night for a little while and Viv/I hung out at the house and caught up. It's been a week and I've been able to hold her maybe once. The relatives were definitely smitten with her. Dad and Mom of course were a whole different story. I think Mom bribed a TSA at the airport to find out the exact second I landed and Dad wouldn't let me even touch the car seat the whole time. At one point I was leaning on the door, he jumped out of the car (I'm not sure we had come to a complete stop, the car wasn't in park yet) and opened the back door to grab Vivian and I almost flew out into the front yard of his house. Well, at least I know she's very very loved. Still have a lot of fun times to talk about. We were down in Philly for 3 days, then Vermont for 5 days (one with Deb, Joe, Ruthie and Vaughn) and now here in Granby for a few. Viv had her first date on Thursday with an older boy - he was about 10 days older. Wow the stories to tell and I've got a few snapshots of them too. I'm going to crash back out, it's a little after 7am here. Viv is starting to quiet down a bit and I'm going to get some more sleep.

fun stuff back east

have a ton of photos, but have to wait until i'm home so i can download them all. flew into philly on friday and was pick up at the airport by captain underpants and the camp poopy pants bus. you really have to see pictures to fully appreciate the whole story but let's just say i've got a very unique family. both brothers were wearing police helmets, my niece had a furry black top hat on and my sister/law looked like a refugee from a village people/abba concert. we hit the event the next day. it was my aunt jeannie & uncle denny's 45th wedding anniversary and my cousins (their daughters) turned it into a family reunion/surprise party. my cousins andrew/katherine came in from irvine california, jimmy/jacqueline & kids (james jr., rachel, lauren and the lil' one) from houston texas, maureen/tim & girls (katie n jenny) from new hampshire,, sharon/ted w/christopher from  connecticut, aunt judy/uncle greg from massachusetts, aunt janet and ed from texas and the girls/cousins all live in or around narberth/philly. alright the baby girl is wanting some attention so i'll be back later to fill in the rest.

Grandma, IKEA and More

John's parents have been in town for the past week visiting Viv and us. We've had a great time, even took Ms. Vivian on her first picnic and trip to the new IKEA out by the airport. Grandma made the baby girl a cootie preventer/shopping cart cover and got a great wall hanging from Kathy Allen. It's a whole ton of nursery ryhmes and they are sitched around each one. Hung it up right over the crib in her room.

Had a second interview with the downtown software company and hope to meet with them in person before we leave for our trip on Friday. Also meet with a place in Lake O that is part time and right down Stafford Road.

Earlier in the week I grabbed lunch with Skye, we were going to talk some work but had much more fun just catching up. While I don't miss the drama of that place I do definitely miss the people. Was able to catch up with Kara too the following day. In the meantime I've still got a few thank you cards to finish off and then hit the hay. 2 Weeks! It’s Been 2 Weeks!!

That would be either my mom or dad calling me on the phone and letting me know how they feel about no pictures of the granddaughter *grin* Imagine that! Can't keep them waiting that long again or I'm afraid the consequences might be deadly...for me. Click here or the picture for the latest Vivian montage

I'm playing with a new wrap I got, it's a T-Shirt material, real comfy and it's got 5 different ways to hold her. We tried out forward-facing while getting the mail today. Such rebels we are huh?

Car Hopping and Pants Dropping

hit the sonic burger yesterday. all the time spent in so. California and i think i hit the drive-in sonic just once. was thinking about doing the whole stall/car-hop thing, but there was a picnic table open and did that instead. so i guess that makes it table-hopping, because they still came out on skates. there were a few with skates and a few with blades. only saw 1 person with just shoes on - spoil sport! after that we took a long drive through hazeldale, scholls, sherwood and the likes. there are a ton of blueberry, raspberry, marionberry and other berry farms out there. john said that he and his mom use to go out there a lot and go to the u-pick places - sounds like a fun afternoon. i just dug on the drive/scenery it was a great time. i remember when john and i were first dating we took a road trip, though i don't remember to where, but i do remember we were listening to an 80's station and singing at the top of our lungs. i knew we were perfectly matched =) i really think you get to know a person when you take a vacation, road trip or something where you are spending a lot of time together. i think it can make or break a relationship (like dumping Brian in Greece on our trip) the weather has been really hot and trying to keep cool. Vivian has just been kicking it with just her bottoms on, of course then people say "what a cute boy" - nope she's just a naked girl *grin* although yesterday she was wearing this lil' outfit that Travis and Krista got her that has dogs driving cars and someone still said "cute boy" sure i know at this age babies look like babies, it's hard to tell what sex, but at the same time i'm not going to be dressing her in pink all the time just so people can identify gender. john and i were talking about that the other day when we bought some bottles that had airplanes on them instead of flowers. hell some of my favorite toys when i was a kid were big metal tonka toys and my dad's army gear. screw stereotypes!
